Permanent Sensorineural hearing loss is the most prevalent birth condition, affecting ~3 per 1000 births in Wisconsin. Fluctuating hearing loss caused by Otitis Media with Effusion is most prevalent and persistent during the first 2 years. This session will address the hearing system, types of hearing loss and the implications for each area of development.
