Attendees will increase an understanding of the effects of trauma on development, behavior, & relationships. An overview of the long term effects of ACE's will be covered. An emphasis on ways protective adult relationships can facilitate adaptive coping & a sense of control will be included. Attendees will learn ways to prevent caregiver burnout from vicarious/secondary trauma. The foundations for beginning to understanding how to help families who are exposed to trauma will also be discussed.
