Penny Schmitt is a FoodWISe Nutrition Educator with UW Cooperative Extension. Penny has taught
nutrition lessons in variety of sites around her community, such as, Head Start, senior meal sites,
parent groups, elementary schools and Boys and Girls Clubs. Penny’s outreach have included
focusing on feeding young children, eating healthy on a budget, meal planning, increasing physical
activity, and MyPlate food group and portion recommendations. She has been part of local coalition
work that focuses on reducing hunger and creating a community that make the healthy choices, the
easy choice.
